Graduated in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD),Vila-Real/Portugal, Paulo Palha has always worked in the field of landscaping and nature based solutions for cities, being currently the CEO of the company “Neoturf – Espaços Verdes Lda” (www.neoturf.pt) and founder of company Landlab Lda(www.landlab.pt). With more than 400 landscape projects and 150 green roof projects, he develops research and work on green roofs since he was a graduate student, and he is currently developing projects/construction in Portugal and abroad. Due to his expertise in green roofs, he is often invited to conduct training courses on green roofs in different parts of the country and abroad. He was the founder, and actual board President, of ANCV(Portuguese Green Roofs Association, www.greenroofs.pt). In this context, we highlight the coordination of the working group for the first technical guide for the design, construction and maintenance of green roofs, and more recently the authorship and coordination of the Porto’s fifth façade project (http://greenroofs.pt/pt/pqap), an internationally recognized project, and awarded at the international conference “Green Infrastructure: Nature Based Solutions for Sustainable and Resilient Cities” held in Orvieto, in 2017, Italy.
He is very active on the issues of the EFB – European Federation of Green Roof Associations and the World Green Infrastructure Network.He is frequently invited to take courses / classes at various universities, conferences and juries, nationally and internationally. Throughout his career he has won numerous national and international awards.
